OUTDOOR CONDITIONS
The work must remain stable, functional and safe throughout the exhibition. In the application, explain how the work will be protected from sun, wind and rain, if necessary.
ØOMO / OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS 2026
ØOMO invites visual artists and artist collectives from Serbia and the region to submit an artwork for the festival’s art programme at Kalemegdan.
OPEN CALL 2026 IS CLOSED

WHO CAN APPLY
The call is open to adult visual artists and artist collectives from Serbia and the region, regardless of experience or career stage. Applications are welcome from students, independent artists, established practitioners and collectives. Previous festival experience and gallery representation are not required.
Selected works will be presented outdoors at the Pobednik Plateau — one of the most recognisable locations within Belgrade Fortress. We are looking for projects that respond thoughtfully to the site, its history and the contemporary festival context, creating a direct encounter between art and audience. Proposals should be suitable for outdoor display, safe visitor movement and the conservation requirements of the protected heritage site.

The work must remain stable, functional and safe throughout the exhibition. In the application, explain how the work will be protected from sun, wind and rain, if necessary.
The installation must not damage Kalemegdan. Drilling, excavation and other interventions in the site are permitted only with prior approval from the organisers and relevant authorities.
State the work’s dimensions and weight, transport, installation and deinstallation method, and all requirements for power, sound, projection, internet access or additional equipment.
The work must be safe for the public, staff and site. Open flame, toxic materials, unstable elements and exposed sharp edges are not permitted.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
SELECTION PROCESS
Each application is considered as a whole. The selection takes into account artistic quality and originality, conceptual clarity, the relationship to the site, audience and festival context, as well as technical feasibility, safety and responsible delivery. Shortlisted works undergo technical alignment before participation is confirmed.
SUPPORT FOR SELECTED ARTISTS
The open call does not include an artist fee or production budget. The artist or artist team is responsible for fabrication, transport, specialist equipment, insurance and all other costs associated with realising the work. The final installation and deinstallation plan will be coordinated with the ØOMO Festival production team before participation is confirmed.
